Massage By Brie - My Massage Classes
Here is a list of My Massage Classes that Sacramento - Massage By Brie has taken. By looking at this list, you can tell if I have had training in a Massage Modality that you are looking for. For example, a Pregnant Woman would be much better off getting a Massage from a Massage Therapist who has had specialized
Prenatal Massage, and
Labor Massage Training like I have, than someone who hasn't had any
Prenatal Training.
One thing to note, is the difference between a Massage Practitioner and a Certified Massage Therapist. In California, each City can set the number of hours of training that they require people practicing Massage in their City to have. Some Cities only require 125 hours of Massage Training to work as a Massage Practitioner.
The City of Sacramento, requires a person practicing Massage to have 250 hours of training. Basically, if you look at the classes that I have taken below, that is just the initial Massage class that I took, "Fundamentals of Massage Therapy". So typically, if you go to a Massage Envy, or a similar Massage Chain, this will be the amount of training that the majority of their staff will have.
In California, you have to have 500 Hours of Massage Therapy Training, and apply to the California Massage Therapy Council (CAMTC) to be able to call yourself a "California Certified Massage Therapist". This means that you can practice Massage in any city in California. Certification needs to be renewed every two years, and there is currently no Continuing Education requirements with the State of California for renewal.
I am a Member of ABMP - Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals, and to keep my standing as a Certified Massage Therapist, with them, I am required to have 16 hours of Continuing Education classes every two years. I take MUCH more than the required classes!
Here is a list of My Massage Classes that I have completed.
